Louis Armstrong’s “What A Wonderful World”, The Death Metal Version

From Laughing Squid

Andy Rehfeldt recently created this brilliant video, in which Louis Armstrong appears to perform a death metal version of his beloved classic, “What a Wonderful World”. The resulting juxtaposition is as hilarious as it is unsettling, turning Armstrong’s avuncular smile into a malevolent death grimace. I can’t stop watching it.

Rehfeldt, a Los Angeles based studio musician, arranged, performed and recorded the instruments, with Slovenian solo artist The Markness providing the appropriately cataclysmic vocals. The video was edited by Stephanie Wooten.
